EPHEMERAL JUSTICE

EPHEMERAL JUSTICE πŸŒŸβš–οΈπŸŒ  I had the pleasure to contribute to @/ffxivthemiszine earlier this year! 🌞 I illustrated Elidibus in his Ephemeral Justice form and also designed a bonus Themis standee! ☺️✨️ Thank you for having me!!! For the painting, I wanted to emphasize the "dark and light" aspect, so I used his weapon to split the main composition + the asymmetry of his wings equalize the negative space. I wanted it to feel balanced like he is floating in equilibrium, but not heavy enough so his hands could delicately cradle the falling star. :D

The golden light that bathes him was influenced by the hall in Pandaemonium, and I wanted to focus on the gold and the dark purple hues as light and dark respectively, just as in P11. Balancing the palette and trying not to lose the silhouette of his Ascian glyph was also a challenge 😝

As for the standee, I wanted to paint a pure Themis with all the convocation crystals. The pastel Elpis palette helped to unify the whites in his colour scheme and the backplate turned out so beautiful with the golden foil for the crystals! ✨️ It was my first time working with acrylic and especially translucency so thank you kouriimei for helping with all the details!!
